I always find major acquisitions more revealing than product launches. A launch can show where a company wants to go. A multi billion dollar deal shows where it believes it has to go.
That makes this a busy week for Revenue Tech. Salesforce has agreed to acquire Braze for approximately $5.66 billion, while Intuit is buying Sequence and Robots & Pencils has acquired Tiger Pistol. The three deals sit in different parts of the market, but each is focused on a similar challenge: helping businesses turn more data into faster, more relevant commercial action.
In other words, this is not just a rush to add AI features. It is a race to own the systems that help companies understand customer behavior, decide what to do next, and act across the revenue lifecycle.
Salesforce Signs Agreement to Acquire Braze
Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Braze, a customer engagement platform, for approximately $5.66 billion in enterprise value.
Braze helps marketers respond to customer behavior in real time across mobile apps, websites, email, SMS, WhatsApp, and other channels. Its platform continuously updates customer profiles and adapts customer journeys using live event data, while BrazeAI helps optimize content, offers, timing, and channels.
If the deal closes, Salesforce expects Braze’s technology to strengthen Marketing Cloud across its wider platform, including Data 360, Customer 360, Agentforce, and SIForce.
Salesforce has deep customer and commercial data, while Braze brings a proven way to use real-time behavioral signals to trigger personalized engagement at a very large scale.
That matters as marketers face growing pressure to move beyond audience segments and scheduled campaigns. The ambition is to make each interaction more responsive to what a customer is doing in the moment, whether they are browsing, buying, or using a product.
Patrick Stokes, President, Applications and Marketing at Salesforce, said:
“Every interaction is an opportunity to wow your customers. Most of that wow comes from knowing your customer, and responding at just the right moment.”
Braze serves around 2,770 customers, including Canva, Dairy Queen, Equinox, Instacart, Urban Outfitters, and Venmo. Salesforce expects the transaction to close in its fiscal year 2028, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.

For Salesforce, the deal is a major bet on the next phase of marketing technology: connecting a richer customer record with AI decisioning and the ability to act across every channel. The question for existing Braze customers will be how the platform retains the speed, flexibility, and open approach that helped it stand out as it becomes part of a much larger CRM ecosystem.
Intuit Moves Into AI-Native Revenue Management
Intuit has signed an agreement to acquire Sequence, an AI-native revenue management company that automates the quote-to-revenue process for businesses with more complicated commercial models.
Intuit, the parent company of email marketing platform Mailchimp, among others, will see the deal strengthen its mid-market offering.
Sequence helps finance and commercial teams automate workflows spanning deal configuration and pricing, billing, invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition. That matters because B2B software and services companies increasingly operate with usage-based, seat-based, milestone-based, and hybrid pricing models, which are difficult to track in spreadsheets and through manual billing processes.
Intuit says the acquisition will help it offer a more modern alternative to legacy ERP systems for mid-market businesses, particularly in B2B software and professional services. Ashley Still, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Intuit’s Small Business & Mid-Market Group explained:
"As businesses grow, pricing, billing, and collecting on complex usage-based and milestone-based revenue becomes one of the biggest reasons they choose an ERP"
For Sequence, the attraction is Intuit’s reach and a shared focus on the mid-market. Its CEO and Co-Founder, Riya Grover, will join Intuit’s Mid-Market product organization once the deal closes. Grover shared:
“Revenue management has long been the most fragmented workflow in the back office"
“As businesses adopt usage-based and hybrid pricing, that complexity is only growing.”
The deal is a useful reminder that revenue technology is not limited to the tools sales and marketing teams use at the front of the funnel. Commercial complexity eventually lands with finance, too. Whoever can connect the journey from a quote through to recognized revenue has a compelling place in the stack.
Robots & Pencils Acquires Tiger Pistol to Scale Agentic Marketing
Elsewhere, Robots & Pencils has acquired Tiger Pistol, a marketing automation platform that has run over four million digital advertising campaigns across Meta, TikTok, Amazon, and other channels.
Tiger Pistol will now become Robots & Pencils’ customer experience transformation studio practice.
Put simply, the deal pairs an established campaign-management platform with a company that builds AI tools for enterprise clients. Tiger Pistol brings the advertising workflows, product expertise, and customer base. Robots & Pencils brings AI engineering that can add agents to those workflows.
That means the combined company aims to do more than just help marketers produce ads faster. It wants AI agents to help manage the ongoing work of a campaign, including making changes based on performance, audience response, media data, and brand rules.
As Len Pagon Jr., CEO of Robots & Pencils, said:
“Brands need integrated, outcome-driven agentic systems that work at scale.”
Paul Elliott, CEO of Tiger Pistol, said customers have traditionally turned to the platform to speed up campaign delivery while keeping control of their brand.
