This week, organizations are noticing how customer context is becoming useful at the moment of action.
Rather than expecting “more AI”, but better evidence: connecting behavioural signals, account history, real-time events, and customer data to decisions that can be explained and acted on.
I spoke with Jason Wolf, President of Fullstory, following the launch of its Digital Benchmark Report which found mobile users generate nearly three times as many rage clicks as web users.
The gap matters because traditional technical measures can look healthy while customers are still struggling to complete basic tasks.
“Companies that break through to the next level, they’re really understanding when frustration starts to sit in, when people are sitting on the site too long, or when they’re not moving to a next best action.”
Analytics can no longer end with an error or changed customer behavior.
Instead, teams need the context to understand why it happened, the governance to trust the recommendation, and the workflow to respond without creating another disconnected experience.
Three vendors in particular made moves this week toward that more operational form of customer intelligence.
Zoom Makes Customer Context Portable Across CX
The centerpiece of its latest announcements is Zoom’s new Unified Context Layer, which brings together engagement data, transcripts, CRM information, and live conversations.
At Zoomtopia 2026, the vendor made multiple announcements to keep customer history available as interactions move between AI, live agents, channels, and even physical locations.
Chris Morrissey, general manager of Zoom CX, said the latest announcements are intended to ensure customer information carries forward across every interaction.
“Every interaction a customer has with a business, whether it’s a call, chat, kiosk visit, or conversation with a virtual agent, generates context that should make the next one smarter,” he said.
“Zoom already powers so many of the conversations between businesses and their customers, and we’re turning that intelligence into something people and AI can act on."
Organizations already using Zoom Virtual Agent, Zoom Contact Center, Zoom Phone, can now access a shared view of what the customer has already experienced.
This announcement includes Customer Profiles expanded through a consolidated view of CRM data, interaction history, and linked cases.
For CX data teams, insight must be operational rather than leaving it in a separate reporting environment.
If a customer has already explained their issue to an employee or changed channels, the next interaction should begin with that history intact.
CX leaders should focus on the quality and freshness of the context being surfaced, the permissions governing access, and whether the platform demonstrably reduces customer effort and resolution times.
Salesforce’s Braze Deal Puts Real-Time Behavior at the Center
Most notably this week, Salesforce's $5.66BN acquisition of Braze highlights the strategic value of acting on customer behavior while it is still relevant.
The goal is to blend the platform with its Data 360, Customer 360, Agentforce, and Marketing Cloud offerings, giving Salesforce a stronger real-time engagement layer.
