Vodafone Business has unveiled a new suite of AI and cybersecurity solutions aimed at small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), as part of its strategic partnership with Google Cloud.
The initiative, announced at Google’s Cloud Next ’26 event, introduces two offerings: a managed detection and response (MDR) cybersecurity service and the Vodafone Business AI Concierge, an agentic AI tool designed to automate customer interactions.
The move reflects growing demand for accessible enterprise-grade security and AI tools among SMBs, which often lack the in-house expertise and resources to deploy them effectively that large enterprises have.
AI Tools Demand Stronger Cybersecurity Protection
The launch centers on Vodafone’s cloud-native MDR solution, powered by Google Cloud’s Security Operations platform, which is designed to help SMBs identify, detect and respond to increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
As AI tools become more embedded in everyday customer interactions, they also expand the potential attack surface for malicious attackers. Automated systems that handle customer data, payments and communications can be exploited if not properly secured, while GenAI introduces new risks such as impersonation, data leaks and manipulation of automated workflows.
The release of the security solution comes alongside the launch of AI Concierge, which is built on Google Cloud’s Gemini models and enables businesses to automate customer engagement tasks such as answering queries and booking appointments via voice and digital channels.
Vodafone indicates that the tool operates autonomously within business environments, handling routine interactions so employees can focus on higher-value activities.

The cybersecurity service will launch first in Germany, with broader European expansion planned later this year. The AI Concierge will initially be available in Germany and Greece.
The products build on a $1BN, 10-year partnership between Vodafone and Google Cloud that was announced in 2024, which focuses on scaling AI, data analytics and security capabilities across Vodafone’s markets.
