Sanas Launches Supervised AI to Keep Humans in Control of AI Customer

Sanas Supervised AI enables contact centres to scale AI-led customer conversations while keeping a human supervisor in control. Announced at CCW Nashville, the platform allows supervisors to oversee up to four live AI calls, intervene instantly and preserve customer context.

Sanas has launched Supervised AI, a new customer service model designed to help contact centres scale AI voice interactions without removing human accountability from the conversation.

Announced at Customer Contact Week (CCW) Nashville, the platform allows one human supervisor to oversee up to four simultaneous AI-led customer calls from a single console. Rather than waiting for a failed interaction to be transferred to a new agent, supervisors can monitor conversations from the outset, receive real-time alerts, privately guide the AI, take over mid-call, and hand control back without the customer needing to repeat themselves.

For CX leaders, the proposition is a timely response to one of the industry’s biggest – and often oversimplified – debates: should AI agents replace human agents?

Sanas argues that is the wrong question. Saurabh Sodani, Chief of Staff at Sanas and Product Lead of the project, told CX Today at CCW Nashville:

“The customer journey does not change from that point of view.. it is how, from the provider point of view, we’re making life easy or making it more flexible.”

Sanas has built its business around real-time speech AI, including technology intended to support clearer communication across global contact centre teams. With Supervised AI, it is extending that speech infrastructure into a model where AI conducts the interaction but a person remains present and accountable throughout.

The approach sits between traditional agent assist, where one employee handles one call with AI support, and fully autonomous AI agents, where a customer may be handed over only after something has gone wrong.

In the Supervised AI model, the supervisor can see live transcripts and receive signals when attention is required. These triggers can include declining customer sentiment, deteriorating AI performance, an explicit customer request for a human, or a compliance-related step.

“We give all those alerts to the human supervisor and say, ‘If these alerts come in, you need to intervene; otherwise, relax and see the calls happening in front of your eyes.’”

The goal is not simply to reduce labour costs, although operational efficiency will clearly be a key commercial consideration. Sanas is pitching a new, more senior role for frontline employees: the AI supervisor.

Sodani said:

“It enables a human to become a superhuman by being able to manage multiple conversations at the same time - How can we use technology to make an agent a super-agent is what it’s all about.”

That shift has significant implications for the AI and automation conversation in CX. As routine, lower-complexity work is automated, agents will increasingly be expected to manage exceptions, make judgement calls and oversee automated systems. But that transition will require investment in training, not just technology deployment.

Sanas also places transparency at the centre of the model. Customers are informed that they are speaking with AI and that a human supervisor is available. That disclosure matters both from a trust perspective and as enterprises prepare for a more demanding regulatory landscape around AI use.

Success, therefore, cannot be measured by automation rates alone. Sodani said CSAT, NPS and customer sentiment must remain the priority, alongside new measures of how effectively human supervisors and AI collaborate.

“For us, if one human is able to manage four calls, that is what success is. The cost of operations significantly reduces, and from a customer experience point of view, we ensure that NPS or CSAT does not degrade while deploying AI at scale.”

Sanas Supervised AI is available by invitation, with broader availability planned for December 2026.
